Edwin has been a lycan for ten years, having been saved from probable death by Ragnar, and brought into the pack on the same night.
He was effectively the omega (bottom of the hierarchy) of the pack for the better part of the decade, treated decently only by Ragnar and Ted. Neither one would really stick up for him, though, rather waiting on him to do something on his own. Gerald, the brute male who was very dominance-oriented was a particular bully. The twins, Riobhan and Siobhan were very bad about both cockteasing and general torment of Edwin.
The night Astera showed up at the castle, and Siobhan managed to pull Ragnar away from Astera, leading her to choose him over Gerald or Ted. This led to increased confidence , leading to him killing Gerald that evening after he hit Riobhan.
Riobhan imprinted on Edwin at that point, but the feelings aren't returned, at least in part for ten years of poor treatment from her.
During a trip to Chile, where Edwin met many of the future pack members, he found himself not just falling for Astera, who was already a bit of an on-again, off-again lover, but in fact imprinted on her, as much as he tried to deny it to himself.
Siobhan and Edwin's best friend Ted conspired to poison Astera, and nearly succeeded, causing Edwin to explode in rage at Siobhan. Though Ted was officially forgiven by the pack, Edwin holds an extreme grudge and will not speak to or acknowledge Ted in any way.

FUTURE EVENTS:
Edwin, a devout atheist, becomes possessed by a negative spirit of sorts, which causes a severe personality change as well as a crisis...of lack of faith.
Edwin gets severely hurt, leaving the pack effectively without a beta male, as well as putting Astera in the position of watching him (potentially) die.
